We’re excited to announce Shrewd LMS 3.4.0, introducing the Quiz activity — a powerful new way to create customised assessments that enhance both learning and training experiences. With this update, course owners can design engaging quizzes to evaluate learners’ understanding, track progress, and reinforce key knowledge — all directly within Microsoft Teams.

What is The Quiz Activity?

The Quiz Activity allows course owners to design assessments directly within Shrewd LMS. Whether you’re running employee training, online classes, or certification programs, you can now create quizzes that test comprehension and measure learning outcomes — without leaving Teams.

What This Feature Does

With the Quiz Activity, you can:

1. Create multiple question types, such as multiple choice, true/false, or short answer.
2. Define passing scores to set clear performance standards.
3. Let the system automatically grade submissions and record results.
4. Track learners’ completion and performance through the reports.

No more switching between tools or managing manual grading. You can now create, assign, and review quizzes all in one place.

How to Create It as an Owner

To get started, you can follow these steps:

1. Open your course in Shrewd LMS.
2. Click Add Activity and select Quiz.
3. Enter the Quiz Title.
4. Configure the Quiz settings.
5. Set the Randomization Options.
6. Configure Feedback Settings.
7. Turn on Include in course progress to ensure the quiz counts toward course completion.
8. Click Save.
9. Scroll to Question Bank Statistics section and click Manage questions in question bank.
10. Create new questions, or import from a file or other activities.
11. Return to the quiz activity page and don’t forget to click Update to save again.

Overview of the Quiz Activity

For students, open the course and select the Quiz activity. The quiz will start by displaying key information, such as the time limit and number of questions, before you begin.

When the quiz begins, you will see each question displayed clearly on the screen. 

After you finish the quiz, you’ll see your results immediately.

All progress and completion data are automatically reflected in the reports, making it easier to monitor learners’ performance and see who has passed or failed.
